I talked to Ken about tires for her yesterday. I picked up the silver white for the rims and I'll get them blasted as soon as the skins show up. It's just so much fun driving it right now, I don't want to put it up on jack stands too long. Chris

I know this is supposed to be a secret and stuff... But the DC truck bed should be seeing it's first REAL coat of primer this evening. Chris has been putting in some extra hours to get this last section completed before the DC goes out for final painting. - DP ( you see that spot.... I sanded it)

I saw the progress this weekend myself... It's looking great!
I'm wondering though ...can you finish it before Ken finishes Rosie??? At this rate your DC will be in and out of the bodyshop before Ken ever gets Rosie back!
And now Ken has annother vert do distract him!
Go Chris go!

It's all good though. The sooner the DC gets out of the garage the sooner my beetle gets her new engine ;D

Holy smokes! I'm getting it in all threads tonight! It's true though. Shayna has become a VW widow the last few nights. Seems I've taken up with a fat chick. What was I thinking??

Day 746......that's right, 2 years and 16 days. Some how Ken gets them done faster?? Busy cabinet shop, busy life, busy VW shop! It's been a 3 day bus marathon, but it's finally out for paint! I stayed up late in the shop to get it ready for Dave (Just Dave's Hotrods). All the bodywork, priming, and blocking is done. Dave will go over my work and guide coat one last time. Then wet sand and paint. He was impressed with the work so far, but I know he'll find mistakes. I've done everything I can and even some things I can't to get it to this point. It's up to him now. I can't explain how happy I am that this stage is over and it's almost ready to put it back together. I just have to go through the boxes and make sure that I have all the small things ready. Anyway, pics! Into the sunlight and onto the trailer: My crackerjack moving crew: To the paint shop: Into it's new home: The bed: Dave..it's his problem now!: And then beer on a sunny deck to celebrate. This is Doug and my new niece Mya. Boy, can she drink! Now all that's left is the rest. I'll be working on a few none VW projects for awhile. Shayna's house renos await! Chris

Thanks for posting the pics Chris... I'll give you a hand with some of the non-vw stuff going on while the DC is getting some color. Just remember that the drop gates need some finishing before they're ready to paint. - DP
