Oh I wouldn't drop it, for a Kombi or DC I'm more inclined towards the stock height/meaty tires look (they are "work" vehicles afterall). I was more referring to the seat belt/car seat mounts and figuring out a headliner and rear interior panels, sorta why I'm more looking for a Standard. But then again if I do go with a Standard I'm pretty sure it will get the basic drop. I can't stop looking at this one...

Ahh ya seat belts could be an issue on it.... if you got repro seat frames you could weld belt tabs onto the frames directly but if you were going to do original seats that probly would make any one cringe. haha Brant. p.s. that bus is just ugly

Congrats on the extra bambino Brother - you are a sucker for abuse ;D I think all five of you would fit fine in a DC. You mentioned Duffy's - is it possibly available? If so, that truck is tits! You can't sleep in it, but you can haul a tent with it!!

My father in-law told me my d*ck is going to put me in my grave... all in good fun of course but he might be right. ;D
I can't imagine Duffy would sell his truck anytime soon (if ever), I was just hoping to take a better look to see how everyone would fit. I'm sure it would be fine, at the last Concept 1 get together he had the girls in the back (both in car seats) and it looked like there was plenty of room.
Sure I can haul a tent but I was thinking more along the lines of a light tent trailer, after the bigger brakes and engine of course. Momma's past the whole sleeping on the ground thing.

With the right setup you could pull a Boler. I believe there is a model that sleeps 6.

6 passenger Boler you say, may have to check into that.
Thom's DC is back up, looks like you were right Keith, there probably are good reasons why it isn't selling, ad has been updated...
"* The rear portion of the bed has been sectioned in from another bus, probably due to collision damage; they did a decent job of it, but it's something you need to know. "
Oh well.

There's a lot of metal work to do on that one for $8100. You can factor in another $2k to get it shipped too as it doesn't run. Guessing by the looks of the wiring harness seen in one of the photos you'd likely be looking at replacing it. (not that that is a bad idea anyway). The other thing that comes to mind is why is there an extra bulkhead included in the pictures? He doesn't mention it in the description and how would you get all the parts back. I doubt they'd all fit inside the back seat area and shippers would have a problem with them in the box. Of course this all goes away if you can go get it yourself. Still a lot of cake.

I have to agree with Mr. Mowser. Tha bus did not spend most of it's life in Arizona. You need to multiply the rust you see by about 3 likely. Being reasonably complete is a plus, but there is mucho metal work to do on that animal before it rolls again. Scaring up all the replacement metal is a whole lot easier than actually properly installing it. I can make this bold statement because I actually watched welding happening on a bus once for about ten minutes. (Insert chest puffing icon here) If it were 6.5K$CDN, it would be worth a serious perusal, but for $10K CDN, it's just not worth it (IMHO). Things are still going to get worse in the States before they get better - the spring may avail itself of a whole crop of busses. Feel free to offer up stink bids for any of theses you see - you never know what might get accepted.

Good advice guys for sure. I'm only looking half-heartedly at this point and I really don't want a serious project but thought I'd better post something up. Even though there are quite a few up for sale right now nothing that really gets me going.
I am waiting on information about one (or two!) DC's in Southern Alberta, although I seem to be getting some conflicting information so we'll see what comes of it.

Keep the search alive dood. It's out there for sure, it's just a matter of time till "the one" shows it's head. I'll keep my ears to the ground out this way. Ya never know what will come up and on that note there is a rumour that Shane off the ASF is thinking of selling his Double Cab. It's the orange one you see around on the forum. Pricey I'm sure but it's a double cab and I'll mention everyone I come across.

I certainly do appreciate it! I did see a post about the orange one but at the time he was only interested in trades. You are right it will probably be pricey, I'm just not sure I would want to spend heavy coin on something that colour.
