Well since everyone is trying to push their junk projects for $10-15,000 maybe I should just get a Binz? We passed the one year anniversary for this thread... shit or get off the pot comes to mind. Either that or stop calling peoples stuff junk.

JP is that you? Welcome back!
I'm not going to jump on the first project that comes up just to make some internet jockey happy. Sad I didn't buy your piece of junk?

Thanks, I did see that one but didn't look very closely. Honestly I was hoping for a fairly easy project but the way things are going now I may have to expect less.
My coupe is sitting in a million pieces in the garage and we've got a baby due in 5 weeks so this hasn't been on the top of my list lately (even with two nice buses coming up for sale in my area I just can't get into it). Before you know it the summer will be over! I do appreciate you keeping an eye out though.
How's the 15 window going by the way?

Spring is fricking nuts around here, the 15's been on the back burner sorry to say. Between work, coaching soccer, playing ball and getting injured (playing ball) I've had my hands full. Been back on track this last week as soccer is done for the year giving me some time. I'll update the post as soon as I take the pictures.

Back from the dead!
I haven't ever really given up the search but the last year has been a busy one with many changes so I've been fairly low key. That being said it looks like I have a buyer for my Westy so it's time to get serious. To those that have trudged through the last 8 pages I'm sure I may have come off as a little schizo but I'm sort of figuring things out as I go, sorry.
Let's start with a clean slate and be absolutely clear as to what is happening here to avoid any hurt feelings. I am very picky. That doesn't mean I expect perfection but I want this to be a keeper so it needs to fit my definition of "the one". My budget at this point is under $10k. I have no problem paying fair market value for a decent project, I will not pay top dollar for a polished turd. Here is what I'm hoping to find.
- '59 to '65 DC (prefer a bullet signal bus though) or '58 to '61 bench seat Kombi, no campers. - if the paint is usable I need original or stock colours. - I'm not afraid of a little metalwork but I don't have the time for a huge project, no scary hacks. - Complete as far as any model specific items are concerned, that includes the DC rear seat and pedestal (at least the frames, upholstery doesn't worry me).
I'm willing to look at anything in the Western US and Canada at this point but it needs to be worth the journey. For something that falls in to the super nice driver category I would be willing to consider putting my '58 Karmann Ghia convertible in as part trade.
While I do appreciate all leads I am on The Samba an average of 142 times each day so generally see everything there.
Thanks!
