Still no more info on that one, I emailed when you sent me the link but no response so far.
I was a little surprised that the '64 out of San Jose (eBay link above) only went to $5400 US, that's something that likely would have gotten the $8500 asking price pretty quick if it was a year ago.
I know the ad was pulled but I'm still thinking of the green '67 in BC, thought of checking to see if it sold or if he's open to offers. I have more than enough to do for the next few months but I'm gettin itchy for something here.

The green '67 is coming to Alberta! Unfortunately not with me, someone from Bragg Creek just picked it up today apparently.

Ok, me again. I know it's not a DC but what do you think of this one? www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=710674It seems to me that after the typical rockers/jack point/outrigger reapir and perhaps an engine that I have sitting in the garage it would make a nice driver. I have had my eye on it for awhile and it just came back from being pending at a higher price.

It looks pretty decent...but I haven't checked the listing on it yet.
While it's not a Truck... it's still cool.

It's not a truck, but I still have a soft spot for the Mouse Grey.

I decided to start posting wanted ads on the local club forums as well as kijiji asking for a solid DC or as second string a Standard Split, no more than $10k, specified no Kombi's or panels. I am not at all surprised but here's what has come from it so far...
First day, offered a 1969 Westy!
Today, two responses from opposite ends of the spectrum. The father of Krusty's owner sent me an email, I politely responded no thanks as I know the bus. Also got an offer for a '68 DC, asking price $21k CDN, while it looks really nice that's more than twice my budget and far more than I would ever want to spend on a Bay.
It's only been a week but the search continues. I'm honestly thinking of just picking up a cheap Westy (has to be a '75, need to seat three in the back soon enough) to get me through the summer, do some camping and build up my finances a little.

That mouse grey Standard that Big Bus Mike has may be something to consider. Mike is a stand up guy - he'll give you the straight goods on the bus - and it's been for sale for a while. Odd that it doesn't sell and he boosts the asking price. There is probably room to move on the price. Just something to consider.

He did raise it $500 since it's been reposted. Based on the current asking price that's around $8000 approximating transport. I will keep my eye on it.

I saw that yesterday afternoon, apparently right after it went pending. Awesome bus, seems like a really good price (hence the quick sale I guess).

Well, bad news. It's something I've been dreading but I'm afraid my hunt is being put on hold for the near future. Losing an income has been a huge adjustment so the bus has been put on the backburner until the wife's business either starts making money or I can get a Ghia roadworthy enough to sell. Hopefully it won't be long but I'm thinking best case scenario will be to have something roadworthy for next spring. Thanks for all the support and keeping an eye out, we'll get back at it soon.

Not that I've really stopped looking but I'm getting closer to "officially" starting the hunt once again. I quit my job today, moving on to a better situation but slightly less money in the long run (really, I'm ok with that). I've been thinking alot about the whole Double Cab thing. I think it will still be the end goal but I can't get it out of my head that if we want to go somehwere as a family it's automatically a full bus. Maybe that's a problem, maybe not. Basically I'm leaving it up to the universe to point me in the right direction. This one has been posted for awhile, I know Adam tends to ask top dollar but I don't think it's too far off. Metalwork is done but obviously needs finishing, it's already got all the lowering bits on it, from there I could pretty much do what I want... Opinions please. www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=621655I also don't want to get too far ahead of myself but an original paint Mouse Grey may become available in the near future. From what I remember it was pretty solid but there is some hit & run type damage so it will need work, have to take another look to determine if I'm up to the task. Didn't seem so bad last time I saw it but I've learned alot since then.
