Here's how the Vin works out...
2302 1441 67
23******** - Kombi
***2****** - Seat arrangement 2-3-3
Unfortunately the rest doesn't match up with anything. The 1441 should be the paint code, the 67 should be the interior but neither are listed in the Specification Guide.
Could you get a picture of the M-plate? It should be behind the front passenegr seat.

That's the VIN plate, the M-Plate looks like this... The M-plate will have the info as to what options your bus came with, where it was delivered to and the build date. Kombi's where sort of the base model, usually camper conversions started with a Kombi. They only have one hot air outlet in the cargo/passenger compartment, were always walkthroughs, and the headliner is only in the front cabin. From 1968-71 they should also have vent windows in the sliding door and opposite rear window. Only Deluxe buses came with the chrome (?) trim on the outside. Shane

Ok.... not trying to be a pain here..... But can anybody source the document that KA is delivery to Alberta? I have seen it on the Samba.... but what I am talking about is the OG VW Canada document to prove it. Volkswagen had a Prairie Region distribution centre based in Winnipeg which would include MB, SK, and AB. Manitoba also has a rare M-code delivery point thru the port of Churchill, and Saskatchewan nothing as far as I know of. Most of the M-code delivery points come thru Canadian ports as do the US M-codes. I wonder if VW would be coding cars from the factory on a provincial basis given the extremely small market that each represented relative to everything else. It would also take out any flexibility in allocating cars as most likely they would end up somewhere else in any event. Likewise I do not see any individual US state M coded designations.. Just curious!! Scott

That destination code is actually not listed in the Spec Guide, I took it from something that Chris had posted on The Samba, so hopefully he knows . Shane
