I can't be the only one searching the forum for something new. Come on Peeps, all of you couldn't have gone into hibernation already. Isn't anyone working on anything? I'm days away from being completely buseless and I'm going crazy already looking for a 15 window to replace it with. What are the rest of the NUTS up to?

I'm trying not to go crazy being busless... Seriously I just thought today to try and get some of the lurkers posting. I see the NUTS sticker on the '68 got the new owner to sign up, hopefully we'll see some good progress on her soon, come on Clayton I know you're out there! Until I find me a Double I'm afraid I won't have much to contribute I guess.

Perhaps we need a new thread we can call the NUT Hatch as you and I seem to be in the same crazy state of mind.

I don't have a personal update...as I'm Busless as well. Our shop had an AirCooled Vanagon in for service yesterday... THOSE are becoming seriously rare... I know they're not "cool" or "desirable" yet...(kinda like 411's and 412's)....but still...serioiusly rare to be seen driving around...let alone driving around in a Saskatchewan Winter. As for more "on topic" news... Chris Murray and I will make the long journey ( 10 feet ) from the back door of his house to the shop where the DC is waiting... and on Tuesday night...the DC will make more progress toward being completed for the Summer of '09. Pics to follow.... (and if that doesn't happen...we will probably just drink coffee and shoot the breeze in the shop...beside the DC) - DP

Looks like we are 3 members strong now with dpeters81westy joining the Buseless NUTS. You make sure to mention my name to Mr. Murray when you are "drinking coffee" beside the DC. ;D

I saw that one this morning. The price is about right for what you get. Too damn far away and across the line. That and the interior is completely toasty. The images he has on Flickr show it before he did any cleaning up to the dash area. All kinds of terrors hiding up there I bet. I'm waiting it out for something a bit more complete, not that I'm afraid of the body work it's just all the little things missing really add up when you have to purchase them seperately.
Oh yeah..... it's not a bullet nose either..... Not only am I a buseless NUT, I'm a picky one too.

On top of everything else from his description it may not come with a title either.
But it's Mouse Grey! Mmmmmm.

Oh yeah and Doug, give Chris a "howdy" poke for me and tell him to stop working so damn much. There's all these busless people wandering around out here and we need help! ;D

ooo Can I play too? I feel like a bus pig with you two sorry NUTS being busless - but I'm not about to lose any sleep over it just yet. Update: I almost finished the welding on the Mango last night, but ran out of wire. I have to tweak and install the new jackpoint and weld on the two new outriggers and the welding is done. That will be a huge burden off my shoulders. Then, I move on to wiring. I pulled the complete wiring harness out of the 65 parts bus, so I'll have the correct length and colours of wires that I'll need to replace. Once that's done, it's a few (i hope) minor tweaks to the boat anchor and the Mango should be ready for a test drive around about Christmas time. That leaves four or more months for fine tuning and OOP. I should actually be ahead of the curve for Bus Season 2009 - for the first time in my life.

well then dammit we demand pictures or IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. Sounds like great progress Riffraff. Pictures man... pictures. At this stage a picture of your welder with the bus in the background would tide us over.

now you have made me feel bad! At least you have an excuse why nothing is happening in your garages. I have three buses and none of them are getting much love. I have a couple weeks off coming up so hopefully will get my lazy fat ass out of the house and into the shop to do something.
