Looking for opinions, can or should a vintage aircooled (for the sake of argument let's say a 70's Double Cab...) be driven as year round daily transportation? Let's say minimum of three days a week, short commute (10 to 15 minutes).
Discuss.

Hi Shane. Are you sure you want my opinion. I've put more than 3000 miles on the SC in about 3 plus months. Carry your cell phone and sign up to CAA. Now drive and enjoy

Not yet Tim, not yet. It's just that the "opportunity" may arise sometime in the future and I'm weighing my options. My only concern would be decent defrost on the windows, overall heat shouldn't be a big deal and I can always add heated seats. Shane

Defrost is a problem. Take today, My windshield did fog up a bit and of course it was the drivers side. I would not say my bus is only a fair weather driver but with high humidity or heavy fog I might take the mini van to work only because I look cool in it Tim

absolutely. I drive mine to and from work every day rain or shine. Come winter yes it'll likely get parked as it did last year but as long as the heat works I say why not.
