Hey guys I'm looking into this bus. I need to know if it worth the effort or look for another bus. it is currently in ontario, kitchener. the owner claims it is from texas. It was recently on the samba. www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=403431The owner has informed my that he is going to paint it back the original color-teal green, for camping this summer. He was asking 6200 as is. 9500 painted and fixed. This model of bus is my dream bus- walk thru, pop top. I'm just starting my hunt so if someone knows of any other prospects I'm all ears. Well here's some pictures: mtar.multiply.com/photos/album/11 Opinions and advice welcome Thanks

Maybe I don't know as much about split campers as I should, but I remember the ad and thought it was a little pricey.
Where are you located? I know of an early 60's pop top possibly for sale in Alberta...

It's either a '62 or '63 according to the owner. It looks to be in nice shape but I don't think it has much of the interior left.

Thanks shane. I'm really wanting a walk through. I'm still talking to the guy with the intial bus that I posted he's doing some body work/paint he's sending some pics. I suspect he's doing a cheap fix and paint job. But as soon as I get it I'm sending off to the bodyshop I'm going to restoring the bus to it's former glory. I'm still having an eye open in case something better comes along, but these are becoming harder to find. thanks again

Maybe they got too many questions from Canadian buyers regarding the currency.
With the first one you are looking at, if you are sending it to the bodyshop anyway why have the current owner mess with it and (I assume) raise the price?

Shane I know I wanted to pick up as is, but at that time money was an issue-we are building in cranston. If I couldn't buy it back in march. he would want to travel/camp from out east to here, then fly back. I thought if the bus can make it here from out east it should have some life in it. Finding a walk through pop top is getting harder.

An extended camping trip for the delivery would be a cool way of doing it, I know people do it to pick up a "new" vehicle but I've never heard it happen the other way around!
Good luck with it.
