I got my spindles on today, but I have a question about the front brake lines.
With the brake assembly being 2.5" higher than normal, a stock rubber line will no go through the mount just under the upper balljoint. Curious if you guys (Chris, Joby or others) have tackled this problem yet. I will likely just fab up a different bracket, or would getting a longer hose made be the best idea?

Brett, do you know if they used a specific hose or had something made?

Reagan bought all the parts. He tried assembling the beam and needed longer hoses. I installed the spindles with the longer hoses and everything fit fine. I could phone him and ask him. I would imagine he got the longer ones at C-1. On my bug when I installed the narrowed beam and drops on it i needed longer hoses as well. If c-1 doesn't have anything longer, talk to Mitch Savard and ask him where he got the brake hoses made for his ghia. Hope that helps.

Anybody come up with a snappy solution to this?? Looks like the brake hose needs to be about 60mm longer. 500mm?? Moving or extending the bracket isn't an option. Maybe a hard line extension from the wheel cylinder to the ball joint bracket would do it.

I'm going to take the stock brake lines into C1 and try and find something slightly longer. Once I get part numbers I will post up.

Disk brakes use different rubber and hard lines than drums. Drums need a split bus front rubber line(480mm) in place of the original(440 mm). 500mm would be better, if you can find them, or extend the line bracket up and clip the rubber line in at a higher position.

Curtis at C1 is working on it for me. He ordered a Vanagon line in to see if it will work (didn't list the length but it will be in Monday) he's also looking for other options in the 500mm plus range.

Here is the official response from WagensWest... "Well we use stock brake lines and we don't use the brake line holder. Thanks, Nate @ www.wagenswest.com" While it doesn't look like there would be any contact or binding issues with it loose, I would still like to check into finding something longer. Shane
