I was wondering if anyone can help me identify this transmission I got for my Beetle Serial #A0520973 Part #113-301-103? I think it is a 1967 tranny with 4.12 Ring & pinion, but I want to be sure before I go to all the trouble of installing it. -Greg

OK, every piece of information that I have come across lists the tranny as this:
AO 1600 3.875 Karmann Ghia from 8/70
Now, correct me if I am wrong, but wouldn't a 1970 Ghia tranny be IRS? This one is definitely a swing axle. I re-checked the code to be sure, definitely "AO"
I have no problem with a 3.875 final drive, but I want to be sure just what this tranny is supposed to be.....

Thanks for the info! Nice site. At least now I have a rough confirmation of what the final drive ratio is. I don't really need to know the exact year the tranny is, but it would be nice to know. -Greg
