ok looking for ideas to remove the undercoating form my bus. I want to stop any more rust from eating the under-body , I plan on painting it then sealing it not to sure on what to use to seal it up. to remove the og stuff sandblasting is not a option right now, any good tips or methods??
what should I use top seal it ?? with out the worry that water can get under it ??
thanks SPICE

I don't have much experience with this, but I know a heat gun and a scraper should work well, even if it takes forever.
As for when you are done, some people like POR15 (just spray it on over the rust) but not everyone.

If you're not worried about the paint then a sharp scraper is pretty good for the old stuff. Alot of what was on mine was old and flaking. It still took a lot of scraping to get it off. I had to sharpen the scraper on my belt sander every 10 minutes or so. There are wire wheels available now that have a J hook to the that are supposed to not clog and just scoop the undercoat off. I used the 3M abrasive discs to clean up the crud left on mine. Mineral spirits will dissolve the tar base stuff if you can get it to sit on the undercoat for a while messy stuff I used zero rust paint, then paintable undercoat and then zero rust over top.
