Hey Everybody, I'm redoing the doors on my 64 and have a few questions. Here is an inside picture of my cargo door. Does anybody have a pic of what the inner structure should look like? The outside was patched with tin and rivets and i need to know the length from the beltline to the bottom of the door. Lastly the hinge pins are worn out, does anybody have a source for hinge pins, they look like big roll pins. Thanks Jim

Jim, I can take pics and measurements for you tomorrow morning. Also, I believe the pins are 8 mm. Usually the hinge wears out faster than the pin, so check the hinge bore for wear. You may be able to get new roll pins from Bolt Supply if you can't find them elsewhere.

Hi Jim, you can check the gallery for cargo door pics. The measurement from the beltline (lowest seam) to the bottom of the door is 30" and the width is 23 5/8". I know it's not in metric...what can I say? I'm a carpenter.

Ohhhhh.... I would stop if I were you. Those are low hinge doors right? They are not super hard to get in much better shape. I'll have a look if you want when the weather is a bit nicer outside, I might have some for you.
It's up to you, but I would never go through thah much effort for a door. They generally sell for $150 ea.
Yours would take several days each to fix properly.

Thanks for the pics and measurements Chris, It doesn't look like it will be too bad of a fix.
Ken, I was thinking about replacing the doors but these doors are in great shape except the bottoms, I've got lots of time so i figure it should be worthwile. Also i only paid 200 for the bus so i can't really justify spending 300 on doors when i can fab up the bottoms for free.

Thought I'd reply with my progress with the doors, its been slow as i had to finish the rockers and outriggers first but heres some pics. All the new metal has been fabbed out of 20 gauge steel, i Got new hinge pins from napa for a whopping 95 cents. Jim
