Well, we had a very serious discussion regarding engine building in the garage yesterday. we cornered about half the available genius available in Western Canada and solved most of the issues pertaining to air cooled engine building faced by today's builders - manifesto to follow Karma for Mark, DP and Freddy for tools, books, photo's, encouragement and camraderie (not necessarily in that order) Joby, I don't know when "festivities will get underway, but early afternoon would probably be a reasonable time if you'd like to stop by. Brett and Dave plan to be here anyhow, and Joe may stop over, anyone else who wants to stop by is welcome to do so. Give me a call on cell 540-1871 and I'll give you my address (I'm in Brentwood).

They're open on Saturday. Ken is out of town though. Well Mr Murray..... it's a good thing you didn't make the trip to cowtown because C1 was closed. Me and DP was goin' to spend some cash there but nobody wanted to take our money. Four cars sitting in the parking lot with no sign up and nothing on the website. We had an enjoyable day anyways with Freddy and Keith. I am up to the eyeballs in MSD ignition stuff now anyways. Keith I was thinking about you having your crank polished. If you bolt the case together with just the crank bearings in (properly torqued) and measure the bores of the bearings. You can take those numbers with you to the machine shop and have the bearing journals polished to give you the correct bearing oil clearance. For some interesting info you can read Jims article on the airspeed forum on engine building. www.airspeedparts.com/community-forum/index.php?s=29965d755434ebd37ed26581b00524a9&act=ST&f=14&t=914&st=160

OOOPS! I'm sure Ken said they would be open. I guess I heard wrong. Sorry for the misdirection. I'll take your money Mark. ;D Man, I wish we were there. I love hanging out in the garage with aircooled friends. This will be the first NUTS get together that we've missed. Take lots of pics and don't forget to drink lots of beer. Chris and Shayna

Little update on hammerin' dolly. The appointed day turned out to be a dud as these things so often do. Dave showed up ready to work, but we spent most of the day fitting the Z-bed. Brett came by a couple nights throughout the week and hammered the tail light sections closer to where they were 47 years ago. They will still need some finessing, but they both look WAY better than they did. I tried my hand at reshaping the nose. As you all know, the nose is a real bear to get at because , well, it's a real bear to get at! I spent much of Sunday cutting and shaping 2X4's to fit in between the outer skin and the inner sill. I made progress, and I haven't made it any worse, but, like the rear, it needs some finesse. I have not attempted to round out the roof yet, but that is still on the list. I have cleaned out the twenty pounds of petrified dust and oil from the engine compartment, relieved the fuel tank of it's stick collection, and fit the new tank. I have all the glass and seals I need and a great collection of other rubber for the bus. One key opens all the locks and all door mechanisms work well now (Thanks for the striker plates Chris ;D) I guess brakes are next, and engine. BTW - anyone got a decent apron?

Hi Keith.
Unfortunately, I missed this posting when it came up... I would still like to help, if you need it. And as mentioned previously, I can source a welder (and maybe even someone who is an expert at running it) ;D
