Hey deadbeats!! It's winter and you should have already started on your list of miracles to accomplish on your bus this season. I know April seems like a long way away, but it will creep up on you.
Two original paint Mango stewards and a 15 window Mafioso get together to speak bus at the Pink Pearl in Bankers Hall on a weekly basis. The occasional Ghia Geek has been known to attend from time to time. Thursday is usually the day and if any of you brothers are in the vicinity, you are welcomed to attend. Good Chinese food, good folks and motivation to get busy on your taskd are all included in the price of lunch!
Come on down!!

Funny thing about those Ghia Geeks, they tend to show up once and then disappear... I'll definitely hook up with you guys again in the next week or two, things have been stupid busy at work lately. I've got the week after Christmas off in which time I plan on drywalling the garage ceiling so I can blow in most of the 12 bags of insulation currently taking up valuable work space. Then I can get my powder oven finished and it's rock and roll time once again (I hope).

Hey Keith,
I have been there a couple of times, our head office (Baker Hughes) is in Gulf Canada Square. I have moved further north to Gibson Energy, but have to be in Calgary one day a week. I might try and stop by and say hello, have an egg roll or two and pick your brain's on a bigger power plant for my bus come spring!

I'd totally come and join you NUTS for some Chinese Food. Problem is, I don't get to town as often as I'd like. New year is fast approaching and hopefully some long weekend visits can be arranged. Since I'm the proud owner of a rusty fat-chick SC...I'd like to become more active within this group. Since my heap is under a foot of snow right now...it won't be making any progress. But I have been making contacts for some salvage parts...and I'm hoping to get things moving forward come the new year. Until then, watching Trevo's BD SC on TheSamba will keep me warm through these long winter months. (and maybe when Chris has some more time, I can assist in the '55 SC re-birth. ) - DP Cheers!!

Keith, I'll give you a call to confirm when lunch is, I had a Christmas concert to attend Thursday morning among other things but so far I'm wide open this coming week.
Doug, I need to go and see Al here in Airdrie, he had two early Bays that were destined for the chopping block last time I heard. Once things calm down a little I'll be sure to see what's up.

Days just don't work for me or I'd be all over it. Every second Tuesday night I'll be spending in Calgary for the near future on my way home from work. Gotta love shift work when the connecting flights to get you home don't exist...

Is there an exec that leads/supports the club and site? I understand that the memberlist is small, and that means that the distributed workload is large. I posted about joining up 18 months ago, but didn't hear boo. Should, would, could something be done? I'm kinda outta the main Saskatoon/Regina/Calgary corridor, and though I've been around the club scene in the Edmonton area since 97, there is not the same recognition/relationship with most of you guys. In any case, hope to get to know you guys better as we keep these vehicles alive, and kicking. Here's the single I finally got to replace my 64 Standard that I sold to Southgate VW in Edmonton. Originally Velvet Green, but leaning to Dove Blue for the repaint, eventually. Darren M. Attachments:

You need to send Chris or Shayna a message, I know life has changed drastically for the dynamic duo this past year and their attention is focused elsewhere (I just noticed it's been 2 years since either of them posted ). That being said I haven't paid any dues since I first joined up so... ? Keith if you're still interested in a jacket I'm going to chat with the wife about finally getting some NUTS logo samples done up, among a couple other VW related things. We need to get this revival moving!

Hey guys,
Just checked and there is still a message to Shayna in my outbox asking about membership from June 09.
I also sent an email to Chris in midsummer asking if he was still producing wood slats for the singlecabs, but didn't get a reply there either.
I can understand that the focus can shift quickly. Marriage brings many changes to both life and priorities. I hope everything is going well for them.
I guess I'm interested to know where the remnant want NUTS to go? Perhaps keeping it small is best for now.... In any case, I wouldn't mind being a member-in-waiting.
Best regards to everyone, and a Happy New Year as well!

Darren
Welcome (a couple years late) NUTS was initially envisioned to be a virtual bus club for western Canadian split bus guys. It started out pretty strong, but has fallen into a bit of disrepair over the last couple years. The way it has all shaken out, is, if you think you are a NUT, you are. There's probably only a half dozen or so of us that still post or read here, but that's better than less than 6! As far as slats go, Chris does still make them. I bought a set from him last month. I'll find out what the scoop is on slats and let you know.
Shane As far as NUTS jackets go, I spent some time with jason at Garment Express and he did up a logo for the back of the jackets. he was going to get me a price on jackets and then he stopped answering e-mails. I know he was real busy, and I should stop by there as I still owe him some coin for the time he put into designing the logo. I'll e-amil you the logo and we can discuss jackets. I'm still in for sure.

Hello Keith,
Thanks for the welcome. I guess I'm a NUT then! Does someone have club shirts for sale? Or, does anyone have a better resolution version of the logo, so that I could create my own on a black shirt?
Hope to continue catching up with you all in the coming year!
Best regards, Darren Muis

Holy Crap! Two years......Man, life flies by! Good thing I remember to pay the renewal fees on the site every year.
Anyway, yep, big life changes for Shayna and I. Not the bus club jugernauts that we used to be. However, Things are good and time will start to become more available soon.
Dmuis, e-mail me directly at cmcabinets @ hotmail. com and I'll get a set of slats ready for you.
I will post again soon. No promises about Shayna though.....
Chris

Since this is the "Hot Topic" here on N.U.T.S. I want to find out more about THIS..
Quote: "My buddy Fred and I are resurrecting an L345 Panel this winter as well. Fred's is a Oct of 58 build but has high tail lights. "
Keith? What can you tell us about the "secret project" ?
