Obviously bumpers and wheels are incorrect, is that a late truck front bench?
It does look pretty solid, need more pictures!
On the very off chance you actually want a 36hp I think the spare I just pulled from my Ghia is a '59 build and you could have it for a whole lot less than $700.

That's good so far. Keep it coming. I've requested a bunch of new pictures so now I wait. The bumpers don't bother me much as I have a mint Deluxe rear already. The front would do for a time if need be. I was alsowondering about the front bench but forgot to ask in the email. Anything odd about a '59 bench that I don't know about? It's '61 that has the odd ball one off right? I know I have at least 3 15" bus wheels and 1 or 2 Crowfoot ones but have no idea of the years...... I'll let you know as soon as I know anything else and I'll keep the motor in mind. Thanks
Todd
p.s. WHERE'S MR MURRAY? I'd love to talk to you on the phone before I buy a bus across the line.

That's a good start to a cool bus. Observations: Good: High hinge 15 window - looks like straight shifter, so pre May 59. Has all glass Has front floor mat - straight shifter mats are much tougher to come by. Mostly unhacked dash Looks solid, but repaint may be hiding stuff Front seat looks like it's just been recovered, or could be a transplant from a truck. At any rate, the frame is correct for the bus, just not the covering. Oct 60 to circa Apr 62 was the Humpback era. Has bottom half of back seat - does it have the back, but just no luggage uprights or bar? Has beltline trim, headlights and front signal lights. Bad: No rocker spears No tail lights No wipers Could be wrong decklid as it has the T handle on it. Possibly wrong or missing apron No middle seat No jailbars Repaint No interior panels Likely no headliner Wrong wheels
Al of the "bad" stuff can be cured with scaring up parts. The big unknown is the amount of rust. It doesn't look too bad from the pics, but like you said, you need a lot more pics. Keep us posted

I think that's a pretty decent looking bus for the price. Of course the underneath shots may tell a different story. The interior bits like seats will cost you, but they are out there. I would also leave the $700 36hp engine where it sits. Some of the bits from the 23W I have may work for you...jail bars, rocker spears etc. Good luck!

Alright I think my head is about to explode. The front seat is the original just been completely recovered in a 70's fashion and over stuffed. He has 2 of the original wheels but they don't hold air so it has the '68 wheels on it. I'm waiting on the Mcode plate but it's only a 2 popout bus No headliner as suspected but it does have a "standard or kombi" rear seat in it. Just doesn't have the Jailbar on it. It comes with all the jailbars as well as a pair of spears for the rockers. On that note there are a couple of small holes on one of the rockers. A bit of rust surfacing on the passenger dogleg Rear drivers corner is fugly but just a dent and the tray is good (same with the battery tray) He has the taillights for it but they aren't minty The blockoff plate he has isn't the correct colour though and the clock is in unknown condition. Also no deluxe ashtray. I forgot to ask about the apron and decklid.... MY BAD. the drivetrain is original other than that and there are 4 small holes drilled in the cargo floor for some unknown reason. Really it's a bunch of small things that add up and that's okay with me as I can pick at the list at swaps while I drive the bus. The history on the bus is interesting but that's for another day. I'm organising my funds tomorrow. Looks like the HUNT is over Will update tomorrow and post the pictures I've recieved thus far.

Sounds good. You aren't very excited are you ! Good to hear it has a bunch of that little stuff - it can add up. We'll have a 15 Window Mafia induction ceremony this summer. Do you plan on running it with the split case trans or upgrading to a big nut? Reason i'm wondering is that there will need to be some modification done to the trans mount. Chris and I need the same mod done on our trucks, but don't want to run a solid mount or hack the stock mount. sled - you figured out a soft mount??
