I didn't think it was a real phone number, someone just typing 123 123. $5,500 seems to be one of the magic scammer numbers and for some reason I've seen a few supposedly out of Edmonton in the last year.

From the pictures shown it looks like a really nice starting point, nice to have all the seats too.

I feel your pain regarding the price, personally I keep thinking for that kind of money it should be a decent running, driving vehicle. But then again I guess I'm a little out of touch. I'm really no expert but for as complete as he claims it to be I would think it's just a little on the high end of being a fair price. You could always take the chance and wait out the economic crisis (the sky is falling, haven't you heard?) you never know what might come up. Then again this guy is trying to sell a 15 window and a 23 window project, if he needs the money bad enough maybe a good deal (for you) can be made.

I think that is top dollar+ for that bus. It looks like it was plenty rusty. The worst parts got panel replacements and the "not as bad" parts got patched and Bondo'd. It is not an Arizona bus, that's for sure. If it was closer, it would be worth flying out to take a look at it, and offer him a bunch less, but it's far enough away that by the time you got it back here, it would be overpriced for what you get. I fully agree with your sentiment that there is something better, more competitively priced and closer to home. Keep looking. I remember Jason talking about a 15 out by Gleichen a couple years ago - I'll see if he remembers anything about it. I know a guy in Seattle that has a 60 he would sell, but it's got some crazy hacks. Have you heard from Mr. Murray yet? I really think you should not buy a bus until you talk to him. He's been stupid busy of late, but you guys need to talk.

11.5 US is like 14 CDN, and might be 15 CDN by next week! - pretty steep. I would think more like 10CDN is top end and that would be in your yard. Looking down the barrel of 17 CDN for that in your yard is not realistic. I'm thinking mine is worth about 20 CDN and it is twice the bus that one is. Take note - I have been accused of being too hard on pricing buses, so take that for what it's worth. What is with all the apparent Dove Blue? Is there a pic of the M-Code plate to prove it is a real 15? The middle seat looks like it came from a period correct Kombi, but the upholstery is for a 65 or 66. The rear seat is probably Kombi as well as it has no luggage bars and the 65 upholstery. No interior panels or headliner = big bucks as well.
I would also think that the kick panels are not period correct. The body is still dented, but primered? I draw your attention to the welding on the passenger rocker. If that is indicative of the skills the body man has, I would be suspicious. Whatever you do, do not buy it until you have checked it out in person. That bus has potential for sure, but it is overpriced for what it is. (IMHO)

I have yet to hear from "Mr. Murray" and really don't even know what he has. Is the guy in Seattle you mention "Sled" off the Samba by chance. I've been in contact with him if that is the case. If not I'd love to hear more. A bullet nose 15 is what I want. It would have to be pretty tempting for me to get another Fried Egg but it's not out of the question if the price is on board. The best part of all this is that my bus is listed in US funds so the exchange rate is only relative to the difference in the selling price and the purchase price. I love the fact that this bus has all three rows of seats but I was more than a bit concerned when I saw the detailed photos he sent. I'm gonna have to take a pass simply because I can't take a look at it in person and there are too many little things picking at my brain.
Thanks for confirming what I was already thinking. The search continues...... who is Mr. Murray anyways?

I hope I didn't sound too harsh. I think that is a good decision on your part. Yeah, the 60 is sled's. He has a couple other projects and I think he would like to unload that 15 - for the right price, it would be worth doing. I heartily support your quest for a bullet nosed15!!
