I'm getting down to the nitty gritty and just trying to finish up the last minor details. I've never had much luck getting clutches adjusted properly, here's how things look currently and the concerns/issues I have. Does the bowden tube look right? I've had more and less bend in it, this seems to be the best but I still sometimes have a little (or alot) of chatter in first and sometimes in second. I know there could be other causes but wanted to start here. As well, I'm not sure if it's related, but when in reverse if you don't give it a fair amount of gas it will stall. I think at one point in my adjusting drama it was doing it in first gear even but that seems to have passed. Other than that she's almost ready to go, there seems to be a little clunking in the front end so I'll have to go over that once more, the inspection is booked for Thursday. Just for fun here's one of her good side... Shane

That Bowden tube looks too short to me. I think you should have a lot more deflection in it. I suspect that is the cause of the shudder.
Just noticed the 58 convertible Ghia in your signature. Very cool score!! I had a 69 convertile Ghia back in the day (long ways from a low light mind you) - wish I'd have kept it.

I may have to check the part number and confirm it's the right one. It's already the second one Ive put on, the first was Brazilian crap, snapped clean when I tried adjusting it while close to the freezing mark outside.
The '58 needs more work than I had hoped, but it is what it is,I'm just itching to get the Kombi on the road so I'll have time to work on it.
