DP can you elaborate for everyone? Thanks! Well, that's correct. The Regina Vee-Dub Club will be hosting it's 19'th Annual VW Show & Shine on the weekend of July 21'st and 22'nd. Some of our Manitoba friends arrive LATE Friday night. I usually host (if you want to call it that)...a mini Meet and Greet at the hotel they stay at. Saturday ======= - a relaxing day with Some Of and (and maybe all of the following ) - Sight seeing (YES there ARE sights to see here) - Garage / Shop tours - Drinking Beer on a Sun Drenched deck - Attending a Spontaneous VW Cruise - Eat some burgers and other food at the Official BBQ at the Science Center near Candy Cane Park. - Come on out to the OFFICIAL VW Show & Shine Social on Saturday evening. - Clean-up and prepare your VW for the Show event on Sunday. - Shop Sunday ===== The VW Show Begins at 10:00am. Get there early for your choice of parking spots. - Games, Prize Draws and events all day long - Cool VW's from the 50's to the present will be in attendance. - Socialize with friends from other VW clubs in Western Cananda (and some from the USA too!) - After the show there is usually a farewell Social or Supper as we bid farewell to our friends that have to hit the road back home that night. It's usually a good time...but a little short on Type II's Hope to see you there! - DP

Okay now, I grew up in Med. Hat. Spent alot of summers visiting relatives in southern Sask. and about the only things that I remember as thing a definite to see when In Regina are: Hwy 1 exiting town from the East and West Hwy 6 exiting town from the North and South Hwy 33? heading south east out of town and Hwy 11? heading north east towards Yorkton? I guess going to the outskirts of town to watch the slow migration of soil from Alberta to Manitoba could be considered things to see too. ;D I kid obviously but other than driving through the older parts of town looking at the trees engulfing the road I don't remember much. The downtown was old and kinda cool too. Alot like Medicine Hat's. What else?

All you have to do is look around a bit.
1) Great downtown....quite, but cool.
2) Wascana Park. Huge, beautiful greenspace and lake right in the middle of the city. Includes the majestic legislative buildings.
3) Various lakes just a short drive from the city.
4) Moose Jaw...most of you will have to drive right through it anyway.
5) Regina Beach and the famous Butler's fish and chips
6) The all new RCMP museum. Musical ride etc.
7) The bird sanctuary. Cool ,but often forgotten, spot.
8) Murray's Garage. OK, it's just my garage, but there's beer!
9) DP!
The list goes on.

Butlers was for sale this winter, the only serious prospect fell though. This may be the last summer for the family owned fish and chips. Tim.

Is there a swap at the show

There isn't an official swap meet. But if you have some small parts you'd like to sell...bring 'em along. There's always a lot of people at out event...and sometimes having the right part at the right time makes all the difference.
Besides, carrying spare parts is a necessity with a VW isn't it?

Is there still a wildlife park near Moose Jaw. Been so many years since I've been out that way I can't remember where it was. I'm thinking to the south end of town near the air force base.

News Release - September 28, 1995 MOOSE JAW WILD ANIMAL PARK SHUTS DOWNS - DP Well I did say it had been a while since I was out that way. I believe the last time was the spring of 1990 in Rockglen for my Great Grandmother's Funeral. Still have a bunch of family in that area. There was another wildlife park of sorts somewhere along the Transcanada. Perhaps it was between MooseJaw and Swift Current. Been too long but they had a family of Swift Foxes (endangered at the time and being bred for reintroduction)
