speaking of they are everywhere!!
I wanted to get some opinions on my 65 westy (check out the member profile section). After picking up a really nice 65 kombi from Rick in the Hat. I have decided that I may be parting out the westy or selling the shell. The westy is pretty rotten and would be a huge project for anyone to finish. The filler is up to 3/8 thick in many places and you can put both feet through the holes in the floor and sides. A few people have said I should take what I need and get rid of the rest. let me know what you think. After I take what I need there won't be much left other than a shell.

Pete The Westy is just a Westfalia factory converted Kombi. If you got a solid Kombi from rick, you're laughing. Transfer the interior from the rotted one to the solid one and you have an instant solid Westy! There is always salvagable stuff even from a rotted shell.

I saw it last year (has been for sale for a long time). The paint is not great as you mentioned. I remember rust returning is small amounts. There was a fiberglass repair if I remember right (he mentions it in his website of the restoration). As usual nothing was done with the undercarriage so it is covered in surface rust. There were a bunch of things that kept me from buying it (at least at the price he was asking). The price might not be too bad compared to what others are asking for their trucks.

Too bad a dolphin got it. I was interested in it, but buddy would not reply to my repeated e-mails. I thought it was because he didn't know me and wanted to sell it to someone he knew. Now look what happened. It'll probably end up out of country to boot.
Too bad.
