Hello NUTS!! I've wanted to make these for a long time now and they are finally available. Accessory harp mirror arms for your bus. Handmade from machined and TIG welded steel, they are built using an original as a template(thanks Ken) and are exact copies. The hinge pin diameter is a true 8mm and will fit your hinges like a stock pin. The threaded end is M8X1.00 just like original arms. Sets are sent bead blasted and include the nut and washer. $45.00 each with free shipping for NUTS members. Oversize pin(for loose hinges) and fat base mirror arms for early buses available soon. PayPal accepted. PM me to order. Thanks, Chris

I'm still pretty green on the Type 2 scene, what years would those fit? What mirror heads do you use for those? I really like them! Nice work! I might have to look into a set when I am there in December.

Greg, they'll fit all buses 55-67. They're built to accept the small round mirrors as shown. The larger elephant ear mirrors use a different mounting system. The large VWOA commercial mirrors that you have will fit as well.

Can they be polished up?

Paul, they are made of cold finish steel so they will rust if not treated. The best way would be to chrome them. It wouldn't be too expensive to send them to Alberta Plating. Clear cadmium would be nice too and really cheap. They originally came painted but shiney looks awesome!! Chris

Very nice arms Chris! Both of my buses (OK projects) came with stock arms on both sides, so I'm covered. As an aside, the new Wolfsburg West round mirror reproductions are superior to the older repro's they had. The new ones are actually worth buying if anyone is looking to move up to harp arms and round mirors. Dancing banana for you!

Thanks Keith! You know, outside this forum, if someone offered me a dancing banana I'd have to turn them down... The one thing not mentioned yet is the added visability that the harps offer. They lift the mirrors up and out just enough to clear the post between the vent and slider. It made a much bigger improvement than I expected. Chris

I'm stoked to put a set of these on Rosie. As we discussed I think Chromed is the way to go! Karma for doing what most people dont... doing something, instead of just talking about it!!

I can't wait to try out those mirror arms Chris. When you start building roof racks I'm willing to volunteer my services to "test" one out for you! And on that note....

If a few of you are going to chrome these puppies, would it be cost effective to get a bunch done at the same time?
