I did get some really good stuff. I must have been very tired when I was shopping in the swap meet, because I bought some of the same things twice.... I picked up -19 euro headlight lenses in total (mostly bus, but a few bug as well) and yes, all of them survived the trip home in my suitcase. - A 1954 Speedo (euro, KM/H) - A complete Speedo pod from a 54' also with a speedo. These are very useful as all of the switches are built into one unit. - Fuel tap, to go with my non-existent fuel tank. -Front wheel cylinders, NOS -NOS headlight rings -A used passenger side headlight assembly. -An orange brake light lens. This might not be correct, but that is what was on it. -54 "strap style" air cleaner. -A spare set of semaphores. Then just a bunch of split bug junk I needed, and I tried to fill everyone else's shopping lists. That pretty much filled my suitcase and an extra bag I brought. If anyone out there has some spare BD stuff kicking around, I could really use a complete transaxle for the 54'.... ;D and some 16's.... I would just use a bug tranny and slam the old girl on some old school mags.... but I stupidly told Potter I wouldn't

Is there a difference between bus and beetle 16” rims?

Bus rims are 16" x3.5" Bug rims are 16"x 3"
and interestingly enough, Porsche 16" are 3.25" and slotted. There are some 16" for Tatra (sp?) rims kicking around that look a bit like the porsche ones, but they are a slightly different bolt pattern and useless.
Bus rims also have a different looking center, it's a bit more "bulbous" that a beetle one.... kinda hard to explain.
Date codes also help, as bugs went to 15" wheels in 53, and bus did not until march of 55'.

Ken, any chance the '54 aircleaner and a set of lenses are for a bug and are your doubles? I sure could use a strap style aircleaner and some euro lenses!
Chad.

The Air cleaner is for the 54' Kombi. I might have a spare set of lenses for you, I'll have a look.
