It's amazing how many "local" buses have popped up. I don't recall ever seeing this many for sale at one given time. Great selection for someone in the market.
And that pedal car single cab is bad ass! Almost makes this bus guy want to procreate so I can buy it.

Here's a link to the three that are for sale, the '65 is the deluxe Ken sold awhile ago. www.quiring.ca/vw/That SC pedal car is really cool, but I seem to remember he had an unfinished double cab sell a couple years ago close to $2000 so I'm thinking it will end a little out of my range. Shane

That single cab is awful tempting!!!!!!!!! I just finished doing my taxes though, and I owe the Queen a fair jag:o I guess I'm buying a civil servant's salary instead of an SC this year. Insert series of colorful expletives here. Still, if I pare the herd and transfer some funds, I can..... Brett, wanna buy the Mango? Anyone think of a comfortable home for Daisy? She still needs intensive care. Then I can ........ ...

Screw it!! I sent him an e-mail requesting pics and description I tried to bleed the brakes on the Mango today, and true to tradition, I can't get the damn things to pump up. I think I could be happy with a 15 window, a 56 SC and a ...... Whaddya think boys?

You know what I think? I think I should maybe call second dibs on the Mango! Too bad for me the garage is full.
I didn't even think of checking out the single, but it looks like an awesome truck.

I think I could be happy with a 15 window, a 56 SC and a ...... LOL!!!!! This comment is very funny without the "and a ......" Buy it Keith and rock the shit out of all of them! Remember, as soon as you get it a PG/SG standard will magically appear as well. It's a losing battle anyway, so why not? ;D

Still waiting on a reply from Buddy. Do any of you guys know him or the truck?? Any website I can see some pics of it? My reasoning in this (I know, save the reasoning for the wife, you guys understand) is that I will be lucky to get the Mango and/or Daisy up and functioning for that price (total). I can roll a 56 SC this summer! I remember a little bit of bus wisdom, may have been from Ken, "If you can't afford an expensive one, you can't afford a cheap one". Hell, $9K isn't even really all that expensive (well, all at once maybe) - any of you miscreants ever actually added up the receipts for any of your buses??? -see what I mean> BTW - Shane - Brett has right of first refusal on the Mango by virtue of his status as PO>

Link to a website, like the one I posted above? ;D Here's a more direct link to the SC, it details all the work he's done to it - www.quiring.ca/vw/56SCHome.htmI don't know the truck but I know Chris a little, he lived in Calgary before moving out west a few years ago, he has a few Ghias as well. Even if Brett does turn it down (hence the "second dibs") I doubt I'm in a position to take ownership of another vehicle soon. As mentioned one of the toys has to live outside for the foreseeable future, plus I would have to either sell one off or be comfortable living in it! Shane

I really don't think I could bring myself to sell the Mango anyhow - just musing out loud!
Thanks for the link - answers a lot of questions. Too bad about it being lowered, I'd rather roll a stock height 36hp SC, but I have enough components around, that could be remedied. Opinions on value??

The single cab is very sweet indeed. I was with Chris when he picked it up in NE Calgary. He did a great job and it ran like a top the last time I was in it.

I sold a tow bar to Chris. Good guy. He paid right away and was very easy to deal with. I guess that can be taken as a character reference and the fact that Peter VG is friends with him goes along way in my books.
I don't know the sc at all. From the pics it looks very solid and the body repair appears to be done well. My only concern would be the paint. Garage paint jobs generally don't do it for me. That's my hang up though.
